Step – 1- Chose three values that are personally meaningful.

Example: Love, Happiness, Mindfulness
Step – 2 Describe what these values are important.

1 – Why this value is important to you.

2 – How you express this value in your everyday life, including what you did today.

3 – If you are facing a difficult decision, you could write about how this value might guide you.

4 – These ten minutes of writing and reflecting can change how you relate to the stress in your life.

5 – For this exercise, you are simply expressing what feels important and meaningful to you right now.

  • A priority
  • A personal strength
  • It can be an attitude
  • Community you care about

Step – 3 Create a phrase of intention.

Example: ‘May I understand Love’, ‘May I Love myself’ or ‘May I Love and accept myself, just as I am’

This a strong personal and wise intention that I can feel in body. I can gently repeat this intention when waking in the morning and last thing at night (as best I can).
Step – 4 Choose another person today who is willing to mindfully listen to your:

  • Value (e.g. Love)
  • Phrase of Intention (‘May I Love and accept myself’)

CORE VALUES

What is the value of Core Values?

WHY

* Core Values are timeless

* Core Values promote confidence and well-being

* Core Values serve as emotional anchours in the rough seas of life.

HOW

“it takes time”

Core values help to shape us as a person. This positivity is difficult to quantify, but it is clearly evident to others.  A strong set of core values will help us connect with others and make new friends.

We are inherently good and have our own set of values, but probably have never taken the time to think or print them out. As we reflect and understand our core values. They act as emotional gate keepers. This with time will help to eradicate toxic negative emotions in relationships.

A strong value system, such as integrity provides a sense of well being that helps to promote ethical behavior, respect and dignity in the world.

Core values act as a guiding light in all making decisions.

In life we want to belong and Guelph, Self Help Alliance (GSHA)is a wonderful place for the that. It supports the “Yes, we can” with a sense of belonging and purpose.

When we come to (GSHA) we are supporting ourselves as caring community and we still have our own belief system and goals. As we come together and share our stories. We can have that feeling of belong without even realizing it.

That “Yes, we can” do this together. J
